At 8 years old, Charles was surrendered to a city shelter by the person who had cared for him his entire life. Missing one eye and blind in the other, the shelter proved a scary and confusing place for him, until a Kitten Rescue foster brought him home where he revealed his confident, cuddly personality immediately. Being blind doesn’t stop this spunky boy from getting around. On the contrary, Charles would like to explore what’s behind every closed door. For example, early on, his fosters found him in the cabinet over the washing machine where he managed to climb up, open a door, and settle in. And people? Charles quite enjoys people. He likes to be on their laps for a snuggle, or nearby in the same room while they are working. He also enjoys meeting new people, at least when introduced one at a time in a calm setting. A confident, long-legged boy, Charles is a vocal cat who likes to wrestle - with soft toys, or with you! He can sometimes play a little rough, so probably isn’t a great match for young children. Charles would do well as an only cat, but may also be ok with another mellow cat. Being blind, it can take a little longer for him to pick up on kitty social cues. All this is to say that Charles is a truly loving companion who will both entertain you with his energy and soothe you with his purr-filled cuddles! Please contact the foster at juliealock@yahoo.com
