Scarlet

Breed: Domestic Shorthair

Est. Birthdate: 04/16/2026

Color: Tortoise

Sex: Female

Location: Foster Care

ID Number: KRLA-A-88541

Attributes: Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Needs Another Cat in Home

Scarlet is an outgoing, affectionate kitten who likes to fall asleep in the most unexpected positions – often on her back with half her body twisted on one direction, and half twisted in the other. While she initially is not a fan of new things, and likes to let people know, she quickly adjusts and then rolls with it. She is a confident girl who is unphased by loud children and the “surprise affections” of her older, bigger foster sisters who enjoy hunting and pouncing on her. She easily forgives with a good cuddle once things have calmed down. Scarlet’s ideal home would be with another kitten, like her foster sister Cindy, KRLA-A-88578, who enjoys playing and cuddling as much as she does. She gets along well with all the cats she has met so far (after expressing her abject displeasure, of course). She calmly holds her own with our large resident cat and her bigger, older foster sisters. She would do great in a multi-cat household or with just one other, well-matched cat. At night she likes to cuddle close — in an armpit or on your neck. She likes all the humans, big and small, that she has had the pleasure to meet. She would love to live with a kid who would play with her until she flops over, exhausted. If you’ve had a tortie before, you know how special they are! Scarlet is no exception. She is loyal, sassy, funny, confident, and (can be) dramatic. In short, she is a character! She is a good girl and, like her sister Cindy, generally stays out of trouble. She has very little interest in climbing up on counters or scratching furniture, but she would very much appreciate some cat items she could climb as she likes to be up high and pretend she is a wild cat in the jungle.
