If you’re looking for an incredibly sweet, affectionate cat that loves being with people, then beautiful Amelie may be just the girl you are looking for. Amelie has already been through a lot in her first year of life. She was rescued after being hit by a car when she was so pregnant that she was about to give birth. Miraculously, she sustained no major injuries, and her four kittens were all born perfectly healthy a short time later. Amelie was a dedicated mom as she recovered, joyfully taking care of her babies. Now her babies are turning 8 weeks old and Amelie is ready for a happy ending to her story: a forever home. Despite having gone through some very hard times, Amelie remains ever cheerful and sweet, and ever trusting of new people and ready to give affection . She’s a rare beauty, inside and out. Right now, Amelie is what I would call “mid-glow-up,” meaning she is in the middle of a major beauty comeback. As you can imagine, being hit by a car, giving birth, and nursing 4 babies left her fur not looking its best - plus when she came to us she was quite underweight. Amelie has been steadily gaining weight and growing in new, silky, fluffy fur. She is already gorgeous now, but surely will be even more stunning in a few months once she’s back to her full beauty. She has similar markings to a Maine Coon, but is petite in size. What else is there to say about this little sweetie? Amelie has excellent little box manners, a lap baby personality, enjoys playing with wand toys and her kittens, and loves being brushed. She is friendly with strangers but holds a special place for her “people” – she wants to be a member of a family so badly! It's clear that Amelie loves her babies very much and would love to be adopted with one of them. (They will be adoption-ready the first week of July.)
