Katmai is a playful, loving dilute calico with goldenrod eyes, a Picasso-esque face pattern and the cutest little freckle on her nose. She’ll melt your heart with her squeaky kitten-like meow, which she’ll use liberally to announce play time. She’s a mighty hunter of crinkle balls and critters on strings. She’ll crouch or hide behind furniture or in a play tunnel, her furry little rear shifting with excitement as she prepares to pounce. She’ll flip in the air, landing in a stuntman-like roll, the critter clasped firmly in her mouth. She’ll then proudly march out of the room dragging the string and wand behind her. When she’s tuckered out from playing, she’ll climb up in your lap for a long nap, often using your hand as a pillow or stretching out her paw to rest it on your arm. She’s an excellent bedtime snuggler, sleeping right up against or on top of you if you let her. Be forewarned, she’s not yet learned to sleep through the night, and when she wakes up, she boldly announces that she’d like companionship — and she will not give up. So she may need to be shut out of the bedroom when she’s unable to settle down. Having a kitty playmate to keep her company could be helpful. Katmai is friendly with human visitors, going right up to them to say hi. If your home needs repairs, she’ll even follow the handyman around and “help” him with his work if he doesn’t mind a furry face nosing around in his toolbox. She loves to give and receive affection. She’s particularly fond of scratches on her neck, cheeks and just above her tail. Her fur is like velvet. A good belly rub will have her rolling on her back, legs in the air, happy as a kitten.
