Taquito is a quiet, food-loving sweetheart with a shy side. He’ll sometimes let you pet him, other times he’ll bolt like you just challenged him to a game of tag. But when it’s mealtime, he’s always front and center! He adores Churu treats, chasing springy toys, and watching the world from the catio. His story began when his mother, a stray named Mama Kitty, brought her first litter to me. Then she stayed, had a second litter (including Taquito), a third, and finally, she disappeared—leaving behind all her kittens. Suddenly, I was caring for 10 cats, completely unprepared but determined to help. Eventually, I found homes for some, two ran off, and I kept three. Meanwhile, Taquito and Amaya had a litter of four, adding to the chaos! Of those, Amber stayed, completing their little family. Now, they live alongside the three cats I officially adopted from the 14. Taquito isn’t an alpha—if there’s a kitty spat, he’s the one getting pinned down (poor guy). He’s also the family’s designated grooming client—Amaya and Amber make sure his fur is spotless. He has never been alone and wouldn’t do well as a single cat. Ideally, he’ll be adopted with Amber and Amaya, but if separated, he must go to a home with other friendly cats. He needs a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. He may not be a lap cat right away, but once he feels safe, he’ll show his sweet, gentle personality. Could you be the one to give Taquito the home he deserves?
