Sammy was rescued after a year on the streets of LA because the family that initially adopted him abandoned him when they decided to get a dog. Sammy is a friendly, lovable guy that loves pets and rubs, and purrs like a lawnmower. Though he doesn’t mind being picked up, he prefers coming to you on his own. Also, he is litter box trained (no spraying).
He can be adopted as single cat or into a home with other cats. He would not do will in a home with dogs.
Sammy has tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV+ often gets passed over because people feel worried about the diagnosis. However, given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat and it requires direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans.
Sammy has been through so much in his short life and he deserves a forever home that will show him the love and affection he deserves and craves. If you are considering rescuing a cat, this big, green-eyed dreamboat is your guy!
