Navy

If your home and heart have been searching for a calm, loving, bed-sharing companion, Navy is your guy. Navy is described to be a velcro kitty — always by his foster mom’s side or half onto her lap (he only partially fits).

Navy was found at a local fast food parking lot suffering from a flea and mite infestation. He wasn’t neutered or microchipped but since he was so friendly, attempts were made to find his owners in case he was lost. Navy recovered from his allergies but still has a tendency to occasionally over-groom himself when bored. He is a grateful boy with a lot of purrs to be purred, kisses to be kissed, love to be shared, and memories to be made. He will thank you with affection for being a part of his rescue story.

A typical day with Navy includes this lover boy lounging by his foster mom’s side while she relaxes or sleeping on top of her while she naps. He will barely allow the foster room door to open before he jumps up onto the bed for snuggle time. His head and cheeks are his two favorite spots to be scratched and petted. He even enjoys a good carry over the shoulder too.

Navy is so loving that he isn’t used to sharing his foster home’s attention with other cats. Therefore, he is best suited for a single-cat household. Navy is also FIV-positive. FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans.
