Rico Suave

Rico Suave is a high energy feisty boy with LOTS of personality and a bit of flair. He is very affectionate and wants your attention. He needs lots of stimulating play and interactive toys. He will probably do fantastic on a cat leash for walks!  He is highly intelligent  and we think he can be trained if you have the time. He needs an experienced cat owner who can handle him and all his antics. He needs his own person who he can connect with that is patient and loving in return you’ll get an AWESOME companion! Rico is funny, too smart for his own good, he will absolutely  let you know what he wants or doesn’t want. His ideal home will be free of cats and NO CHILDREN, with a single owner willing to give this dude a chance. He was abandoned  by his previous  owners who quite possibly abused him before they moved away and just left him there. Once we were notified he was on the fast track to be euthanized  for defensive behavior, we swooped him up and got him into a foster home where we were able to figure his personality out. What a character he has blossomed  into.  For more detailed information send us an inquiry  and we will be happy to give you a call. PLEASE give him a chance.

This is a very complex kitty who was initially abandoned by owners and living in the apartment complex off the charity of the other tenants. He was taken in and then bounced around by different fosters before I got him, I got him fixed and vaccines and have had him for the last couple months.

His issue is biting. Especially  when meeting new people. The odd thing is he is very affectionate  then will bite.  As I’ve had him for a period of time I can now read him better and can tell when he gets agitated. He has SO MUCH energy which  I think is the crux of his problem. To make matters worse I cannot let him around the other cats because though he is lonely he treats them like prey, not so much aggressive but play, likewise with my hands and feet. Never aggressive in nature but nonetheless it would be scary for an adopter that is not experienced.

Now he is comfortable with me he no longer breaks the skin and for the most part is really sweet, cute and full of personality. Having him locked and alone for half of each day only makes the situation worse. I honestly don’t know but he may be a perfect cat given the opportunity  and space to run around and have more interaction with people. I am living in a temporary  situation and at some point, hopefully later than sooner, will have to move, so I’m trying to place him before my back is to the wall.

He would make a great hunter, all his play resembles the act. He most likely would not.pick on other cats if he had a way to channel his urges. If you have any opportunities that could be conducive to his needs, I would be indebted to you!
