Matteson is friendly kitty. He was found hanging around Culver City. He was taken to the vet to see if he was chipped and could be returned to his home. It turned out he wasn’t chipped or neutered, and he had a bit of a cold. But he also turned out the be the absolute sweetest, most affection cat imaginable! He had quite a fan base of people who had been feeding him on the street. He is approximately 10 years old.
From the very first day in his foster home, Matteson wanted nothing more than to snuggle on his foster mom’s lap. He has now been neutered, treated for his sniffles, and is ready for a forever home! Matteson did test positive for FIV. Cats with FIV+ often gets passed over because people feel worried about the diagnosis. However, given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat and it requires direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans. tested negative for parasites and FELV but positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can live long and happy lives but should be kept indoors.
This sweet, mellow dude seriously deserves a loving home and will make a wonderful companion for some lucky person.
