We rescued Malcolm during a trip to a city shelter to get some cats. We don’t really know his origin story other than that he was covered in matted fur, underweight and hadn’t been neutered. He is showing some signs of a life well-lived — he’s deaf, partially blind due to cataracts, arthritic and has luxating patellas. None of that seems to impact him though and he is fine on short walks and so long as he doesn’t have to climb stairs. He gets around well and has a cute little bouncy prancing signature move that always brings the house down. Malcolm gets along fine with cats and dogs. He lives in our kitten nursery and has pretty constant interaction with cats of all ages and sizes. He’s a really sweet and pretty low key boy who just wants a place to relax and hang out in his retirement. One word on his breed: we don’t really know what he is. Every person we ask gives us a slightly different guess including Westie, Poodle, Maltese, Bichon, Dandie, Dinmont, Tibetan terrier, Havanese, Cavapoo, Maltiepoo, Cockerpoo and every other variety of poo you can think of. In the end it shouldn’t really matter — he’s a small awesome dude and we are fine leaving his genetic makeup to the eye of the beholder.
