Jem

Jem is the sweetest, snuggliest little old lady cat you’ll ever meet! A long-hair Turkish Van with two different colored eyes, she’s as stunning as she is affectionate. Jem could happily spend the rest of her days, (and there will be a lot of them with her clean bill of health), eating, sleeping, and cuddling. She has the age and grace of Dame Maggie Smith and the loving attitude and sass of Dolly Parton.

Although she has no looming health concerns, Jem is a bit underweight and very dainty, but she has a serious appetite and is ready to fill out and get back to normal. She is so very soft and has a feather duster for a tail that she will gladly wrap around your legs to greet you. She uses the litter box like the proper grand dame she is and has never nipped or had a defensive attitude, even during a bath. Really the only time she can be a tad “sassy” is when she wants to go from sitting on your lap to lounging in her own bed, but even then she’ll always keep you in sight, slowly blinking in gratitude.

Mornings are her most active times, as she enjoys her breakfast and then rolls about hoping for tummy rubs. Afternoons are spent lazily dozing and gladly accepting neck scratches. She is very independent and can be on her own, but is always down for a snuggle. She effortlessly adapts to any environment, and though chatty when hanging out, she knows when it’s time for quiet, and she sleeps quietly through the night.

This precious little lady was found abandoned in a rough Los Angeles neighborhood, yelling for someone to cuddle, feed and love her. We shudder to think how she ended up there. She’s got a healed scratch on her nose as a reminder of being thrown out on the mean streets of L.A. When she was found she was extremely malnourished, but as mentioned before, she’s steadily putting on weight, and any hair loss from her stressful experience is expected to turn around and her beautiful, lush coat will grow back.

Jem is the perfect cat for someone who wants to receive love as much as give it. The love just radiates off her!
