Harley and Cody
Cody (aka Little Lynx) and Harley (aka Koala Nose) are a bonded brother and sister, best adopted together. They can trace their pedigree to Venice Beach, where their pregnant mama was found. After several weeks with mom, they came to Kitten Rescue. They are a playful, confident, affectionate twosome, with purrs that sound like outboard motors. True, Cody can be a bit of a pasha (we think his role model is the young Simba in The Lion King) who loves lounging at the top of the cat tree and surveying his domain before pouncing on his sister, an unsuspecting human, a piece of fuzz, or his favorite stuffed fox, which he will then drag off to his “den”. But he is also very willing to be picked up, cradled, carried around like a baby, and to curl up beside you or in your lap.
Harley tends to be more cautious than her too-cool-for-school brother, but once she’s feeling comfortable, she’s like a little Dora the Explorer, curious about everything. She loves piling into and popping out of empty cardboard boxes, chasing and playing with toys like her “fishy,” gazing with big amber eyes at the birds outside or on Amazon wildlife videos, and scent-marking the bewildered household dog. Brother and sister will seek you out for hugs, and petting sessions, and when they join you for R&R, expect nose-kisses and soft paws on your cheek.
Harley and Cody are medium-energy and (for better or worse) getting smarter every day. They are great company for each other, whether they are practicing their latest leaping moves, playing prey and predator, or staring in amazement at talking heads on TV.
Both get on well with cats and dogs (although Cody may be inclined to strut his stuff with an older resident male, at least at first) and should do fine with school-age children and with younger children in families who have prior cat experience.
