Fairfax

We’re not going to mince words here – Fairfax is a weirdo. She operates on two speeds: manic, or comatose. When she’s manic, she will meow incessantly and pace around, asking to be pet, and flop around purring like crazy. When she’s comatose, she obviously doesn’t do that, so it’s less interesting. But she doesn’t have that middle ground that you find in most cats. This is due to her jumpy nature. Fairfax hasn’t had any trauma in her life (she was rescued as a young kitten and raised in a loving foster home), it’s just the way her itty bitty brain is wired.

So while Fairfax isn’t the sort of cat you can walk to at will and start petting her, or pick her up and carry her around like a football (as one does), it doesn’t mean she isn’t really sweet and doesn’t like people. It’s just that she has an extremely quirky way of interacting with people. And since she’s in charge – she’s the cat, after all – we all just have to play by her rules.

Fairfax gets along well with most other cats, having been raised in a multi-cat household her entire life, but doesn’t seem to care about them either way. She is more content to pick a person and do her weird little floppy and squeaky routine with them, or play with toys by herself. She isn’t particularly disturbed by dogs either, but doesn’t seek out their companionship.

Fairfax is not a traditional cat, but her quirky charms make her a very endearing companion. She will take time to adjust to a new home, but once she does, her weirdness can all be yours!
