Cali, Maisie and Monet
Mother cat rejected kittens 5 days after birth. I’ve bottle-fed, and these are the 3 survivors of 5. They are affectionate, sociable, well-adjusted, and easy going. They of course use their teeth in play, so I don’t want any inexperienced adopters who will immediately cater to a child who hasn’t been trained appropriately. They have 2 large catios with cat-doors at my place, and will need comparable surroundings in their new home(s). They’ll do much better all going to the same home, but I trust kitten rescue to adopt only one to homes that already have playmates. IF separated, Maisie(grey and white Tabby) is the only one who could be separated from the other two.
They are all equally cuddly, communicative, and playful; Maisie is the most independent, if I had to choose. They play with both their parents, (who are both, of course, now spayed and neutered!), and my blind dog, with whom they’ve learned to be uber gentle. They listen to animal cues. They’re very curious about my 8 hens but have not met them outside the catio grid. The 2 bunnies are not interested in the kittens at all, but the kittens are sweet and gentle in trying to get them to play.
I’m happy to host any and all visitors to meet the girls in their original environment. It’s a very unusual situation, to actually know the entire family and their back stories! Potential adopters can meet the mom, dad, AND baby girls, and see all the other animals the kittens have been exposed to in their young lives. The parents were NOT STRAY OR FERAL. They were an uncomfortable divorce/rehoming situation that I was requested to help out with.
