Welcome to Kitten Rescue's Canine Page!

With a name like Kitten Rescue, you wouldn't expect us to be adopting out dogs. But the dedication of our volunteers to helping homeless and abandoned animals is not limited to cats, and we do have several rescued dogs who are looking for loving, forever homes.

Jake is a 10-year old German Shepherd who had spent virtually his entire life living in an outdoor kennel up in Palmdale. One day, he was playing in the exercise yard with several other dogs when they attacked him and he was severely mauled. He was rushed to the hospital and stabilized, but the wounds were so extensive that it required three separate surgeries to keep him alive. After that horrible experience, a kind-hearted Kitten Rescue volunteer took him home to foster so he wouldn't have to go back to live in a kennel again.

Jake is a friendly, calm and easy-going boy who prefers to be outside, having lived outside his entire life. He gets along with most other dogs and has a gentle, passive personality. Despite being a senior, when it comes to his favorite game of fetch, he shows his youthful spirit. Jake has been through a lot, and now he certainly deserves to spend the remainder of his golden years in the comfort of a loving home.

Link is a goofball of extraordinary magnitude. This lab/staff mix is around 1 1/2 years old and acts like a giant dopey puppy. He's extremely playful and loves to goof around with other dogs. Though in all fairness, for all his goofiness, he's shown himself to be a smart dog and quick to learn commands.

If you're looking for a fun-loving, high-energy and loyal companion, Link's your guy!

Harriet is another dog we rescued from an outdoor kennel in Palmdale, where she had been living since she was a puppy. She's now around 11 years old. With a better diet and regular exercise, she's slimmed down from the tubbo that she was when we rescued her, and she enjoys going for strolls and playing with her dog friends (including Link). She's obviously older and more on the sedate side, but she's a very sweet and loving girl with an easy-going disposition and a lot of love to give. She gets along fine with cats too. Harriet would do best in a quiet home who doesn't mind a dog who will sit with you and adore you for hours.

Charlotte is an adorable miniature pinscher who is just over one year old. She is very sweet and affectionate and has a lot of energy, as you'd expect from a min pin... Charlotte really loves cats and would thrive in a house with other dogs or cats as playmates. She is quite cuddly and is housetrained, but she could use a little more work with her basic commands.

All of KR's K-9s are spayed/neutered, current on their vaccinations and microchipped.
