Too Much Sugar Ray
Too Much Sugar Ray is a big puddle of love. He adores being picked up and held and will purr in your arms hugging you. He loves to sit on your lap and be petted, purring really, really loud. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever met.
Ray was doing great until his previous owner found out that he is diabetic and needs insulin shots. The needles are super small and Ray is the best patient ever. But his owner didn’t want to give shots, so he told the vet to euthanize sweet Ray instead! Can you imagine your family wanting to “off” you just because you became diabetic? Neither could we — so we took Ray in to foster care.
Ray gets along wonderfully with other cats and kittens and just wants a place he can live out the rest of his years with love and care. He is missing most of his teeth, not that that matters. His insulin runs about $25 a month. Ray has tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV+ often gets passed over because people feel worried about the diagnosis. However, given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat and it requires direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans.
