Kitten Rescue was founded in the spring of 1997 and has grown to be one of the largest and most respected animal welfare groups in Los Angeles. We are a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving new homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. Kitten Rescue volunteers place over 1,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. Since we began, we have rescued and placed over 17,000 cats (and counting!) into loving homes.
Kitten Rescue is an Official Charity of the 2018 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon for the 7th year in a row. The Los Angeles Marathon is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and we need YOUR help to make this the most successful year ever!
Why join Team Kitten Rescue? Because the animals need you! If you walk or run the marathon for Team Kitten Rescue, you will be able to raise money to save the lives of homeless cats and dogs. If this will be your first marathon, we assure you that it will be an incredibly rewarding and transformational experience — so it’s a win-win for you and the animals. And no experience is necessary! Whether you are a seasoned marathoner or a couch potato who has never exercised, we would love to have you on our team.
Have you found abandoned, feral or orphaned kittens and are not sure what to do? Should you take them in? And if you rescue them, what do you do next? Never fear… we have all the answers in our Kitten Care Handbook!
Our Kitten Care Handbook is your expert online source for everything you need to know if you wish to rescue and raise orphaned kittens. We also include tips for people who have recently adopted a new kitten or cat and want to make sure everything goes smoothly.
From the immediate steps and first aid you’ll need to provide, to what supplies you will gather, to emergency kitten formula recipes, to getting and keeping kittens healthy — we cover it all! We even detail the care for them as they grow.
Because if there’s one thing that Kitten Rescue knows… it’s how to rescue and care for kittens!
Need your fix? Check out our Kitten Cam! We have an entire room at the KR Sanctuary dedicated to nursing moms with litters of kittens. When we don’t happen to have a mom with a litter, we use this area as a romper room for some of our kittens waiting to be adopted.
All of the budding young stars you see on this live feed are looking for homes, including Mom! If you fall in love, don’t hesitate — click below and get an adoption application in to us pronto!
